Anyone hyped for BF1 or is it just me. Watching the early access gameplay and seeing the engine and beautiful graphics has me well hyped. What I also like is how the maps play very well which is a problem for most fps (looking at you cod). Hopefully bf1 goes well so it can spell the end for cod which seems to be heading towards dying as a franchise. 70 quid for cod and its rubbish DLC's along with its gambling through micro transactions. No thanks.

It seems FPS games are regressing. I remember when Call of Duty and Medal of Honour came out, it was world war 2, then they progressed to more modern day conflicts and now back to the 1900s.

I will be honest with you, the FPS scene has become stagnant and devoid of idea's. They're all reskinned versions of themselves these days.

rainbow six siege has been pretty good if u ask me. I've never played COD so I can't comment, bt I did recently purchase BF1 however its only in november that I can start to play it as I don't have my computer with me.

similar to fifa I think fps games like cod battlefield and the like is really hard to be innovative with, there's not much u can add other than improve the current gameplay, probably different game modes bt at the end of the day its a shooting game.

personally i'm ok with them releasing new game every 2 years maybe to keep things fresh, bt i'd really rather they spend more time on anti hacking systems especially on pc. a lot of the gameplay aspects is fine with me,bt hackers ruin the game.

Anyone here play Rocket league on PC/PS4. Really fun and addictive game. Plus it has a really high skill ceiling so there always room to improve. Really fun to play with your mates but gets really annoying when you get teammates who ain't on the same skill level as you, as it is harder to carry them in the game. I would wait until perhaps there is a psn deal to pick up the game as it is priced at £16. Honestly though I think it is worth it even for that price.

{Ed001's Note - I gave it a try but thought it was rubbish to be honest.}

You can purchase this on G2A.com or Instant-Gaming.com for around £8. Fun game to play, especially with 2 or 3 friends.

2.) 16 Oct 2016 01:47:47
It takes time to get used to it ed. I too thought it was rubbish at first but now its all I play atm.

{Ed001's Note - it is just not my thing, no more than a variation of football, I would rather play the real thing.}

3.) 18 Oct 2016 01:22:23
Hopefully your better at playing the real thing than Rocket League ed lol.

{Ed001's Note - I couldn't be any worse if I had both legs tied together.}

No mans sky is set to be released today. Hopefully it turns out to be an excellent fane as the hype for it was massive. Personally going to wait a while and see the reviews before I purchase. Btw ed001 your a history buff are u hyped for battlefield 1 considering its set in WW1. Seems like its right up your alley.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - I am holding off on No Man's Sky, just to see what kind of reviews it gets as well. It has the potential to be dross or amazing, would hate to spend the money to get dross!

As for Battlefield, I have to be honest I am not really big on FPS games. My daughter loves them and I play them with her, but other than that I want more RPG than shooter.}

1.) 09 Aug 2016 15:27:39
Spoke to a beta tester yesterday about this, he said it's an incredible game that can only get better.

Ed001, have you seen the Dawn of War III trailer and game play video's? Looks awesome!

{Ed001's Note - I have seen the trailer and got very excited, I have I and II already and really like them. I just don't get much time to play them.}

2.) 09 Aug 2016 21:59:32
I love most of the Dawn of Wars, they've gone with an Moba art style for the new one, a lot of people are complaining but at the same time, this is pre-alpha footage, so it's not even in Beta yet. There are missing textures, animations as well as the graphic intensity(explosions, debris, blood, etc).

I love the inclusion of the giant units. I am disappointed that the only 3 factions are Orcs, Space Marines and Eldar.

I would assume(and it annoys me) that they will release DLC including the other races(Chaos, Necrons, Dark Eldar(maybe?), Sisters of Battle(maybe?), Imperial Guard and Tyranids(maybe?)).

I'd love to see a company actually release a full game with everything included for the obscene price of £49.99, instead of some half-baked bug filled cretin of a game(aka F1 2015) and not do DLC unless new idea's come along after release.

{Ed001's Note - now that I am in full agreement with! All these DLC are just becoming a joke now.}

3.) 10 Aug 2016 18:21:46
Ed001, shall we start a a company to develop and publish games? I think we could topple EA, Sega, Relic and Valve with ease!

Bring gaming back to where it should be!

{Ed001's Note - sounds good to me! Funnily enough a friend of mine wants to talk to me about doing just that, though he wants to stick to mobile games only.}

4.) 10 Aug 2016 21:07:59
Quite the coincidence! Maybe he should branch off into PC games also, there are some genuine opportunities in the PC gaming market at this moment in time. Just don't bother with MOBA games, League of Legends and Dota 2 have too much of a strangle hold on the market, $25million prize pools is not something you can compete against.

{Ed001's Note - we are going to discuss it properly once the transfer window is shut, so I will let you know what happens.}

Anyone thinking about buying the new starwars battlefront. Dont. Save yourself the 40 quid it truly is an abysmal excuse for a game. The moment you load up the first thing that hits you is an EA season pass that costs an extra 40 quid and it consists of half the game. So if you want to play the game properly you have to fork out another 40 quid. The AI is awful, Campaign makes destiny look top notch. Sure the graphis are great but what's the point if the games rubbish. Even if your a fan of star wars you will find yourself thinking. Why. EA have really done it this time. Please don't waste your money. Rant over.

dilakh2

{Ed007's Note - Mine didn't ask for a season pass, in fact I had been playing the game for hours before even noticed I had a free season pass in the box.}

1.) 20 Nov 2015 02:12:03
You struck lucky then ed007. Your love for star wars must be blinding you because it is a total rip off. Why should I pay the full price for half a game and be expected to pay another 40 quid for a DLC that renders the game useless if you don't get it. The effects of wow its star wars wears off after a while. The gameplay aswell just feels like cod but with storm troopers. I miss the good old days when you paid for a full game not this bs DLC rubbish that will probably add up to 100 quid.

{Ed007's Note - I said to Ed004 earlier tonight not to buy it on my say so, as you say I'm biased because it's Star Wars AND it's my first PS4 game. I'm not too clued up on this DLC stuff mate so I can't comment but it doesn't sound ideal. And I've never played COD online but after playing Battlefront I might give it a blast (no pun intended)..

2.) 20 Nov 2015 03:42:44
Imo cod has gone downhill after you clock that it is the same stuff thet keep pushing each year but with diff maps. DLC's are basically like an extension of the game. Which sounds ideal but instead of developers fully working on the game they release a sort of half a game that is priced at the normal RRP. However they expect you to pay further money to get the extension of the game. Sometimes the game you payed for is pretty useless e.g destiny without a dlc as the original content is garbage. Sonetimes they overhype a dlc saying you can do this and that but its jyst minimal changes. Its corporation rip off and its finest.

3.) 20 Nov 2015 05:10:12
I really was not impressed by Battlefront's beta trial, so I am not surprised you are not happy with it. I thought it was a worse version of COD but you got to shoot or be a stormtrooper.

4.) 20 Nov 2015 08:45:35
Is it just call of duty only with star wars?

{Ed001's Note - from what I saw in the beta, and have read about the content that is available at launch, it is more of a COD-lite. There are not as many game modes, none of the Zombie/Alien added side games, plus a really short campaign mode.}

anyone here played heavy rain, now that was a game. heard they're making a ps4 version, tryna make some extra quid sony I see. The last game I played that was in its league was the last of us. why can't developers make good games like heavy rain etc. instead of the same rubbish every year. Looking at you EA.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - because it takes too long to develop new ideas and sell them to the consumers. Though they should be looking at the buzz around 'No Man's Sky' to see how much traction you can get with a new idea that is being developed.}

1.) 04 Jul 2015 20:13:05
Wow just saw the E3 for 'No Man's Sky', looks amazing. So effectively your saying developers have to keep pushing the same jargon of crap every year e.g Cod, to make as much money for their overlords. that sucks really.

{Ed001's Note - pretty much mate. At least there are still games like No Man's Sky to give us all hope. It looks amazing.}

2.) 06 Jul 2015 16:12:13
Heavy rain was a terrible game it was just one massive qte

{Ed001's Note - qte?}

3.) 07 Jul 2015 11:51:59
Quick time events and stuff

{Ed001's Note - I have absolutely no idea what that is. I am disappointed in myself, sorry.}

4.) 11 Jul 2015 07:24:47
heavy rain was the reason I bought a ps3. ed001 its like an interactive movie. you can control the main charecters and walk around interacting with things, during cut scenes button prompts will appear on screen and you have to press them or do the action they suggest to affect the outcomes. a bit like the telltale games walking dead , wolf among us. choice being very important. one of my favorite scenes
Spoiler- you are requested to cut of a finger in an old house and it leaves it up to you how to treat it. it leaves things around you can interact with like a bottle of alcohol, a hot stove a knife and so on. you have to treat it yourself. what would you do. use the knife to off the finger, clean the wound with alcohol then seal it with the stove. if not done properly you may face consequences down the line.
also has a great twist.

noo don't do a remake they should just make a new one.

{Ed001's Note - I am not a fan of interactive movies myself. Sounds like a good one, but I prefer more freedom in my games.}

Bf1 is a brill game, made me fall in love with fps again. The attention to detail is outstanding. Would prob wait till christmas to pick it up, amazon often do games deals during sales periods.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - I won't be getting anything until well into the new year mate.}

This sounds all good and promising hsf but these publishers have overlords to answer too. Who only care about how much dosh they can make, and as long as people keep buying the same game every year. Publishers will release buggy games every year.

Still the same problems with movement, with your cdm running up for no damn reason. My play style is counter anyway so i'll try see how it meshes with the new update. I wish they put more emphasis on different play style rather than try force the AI to play like barca every game.
