Hi all, realise this page doesn’t get that many views but I’ve just finished God of War Ragnarok this evening after 34hours of playtime (much longer than I expected). Ran through a decent chunk of side content and the main game to get that time with about 50% of the achievements unlocked.

Would just like to say it’s probably one of the greatest games I’ve personally played, masterful story telling, engaging side content and fantastic gameplay.

The story itself was so intelligently told, with some amazing plot twists and a beautiful ending that had be bawling my eyes out to be honest (trust me that’s incredibly hard to do).

It’s not often I’m wax lyrical about games, but this one was truly special. Even from a graphics standpoint it looks outstanding and the music/score is masterful. Fair play Sony have pumped out some really excellent first party exclusives over the years!

Previously saw some concern about the EA take over of codemasters. I have a friend who works within the industry, specifically for codemasters and apparently all is going well within the studio.

EA has added their own infrastructure and is looking to integrate more of their own ideas but overall the company has been left to continue their work. Seems they are also benefiting from more investment.

Also aware that the new F1 game is coming along nicely. Don't play their games myself but thought I'd pass on.

Electronic Arts are a cancer and need to be stopped.

Irrespective of whether the F1 game is coming along nicely or not, I will not be buying it. I absolutely 100% refuse to give money to those suits who put out impossible financial models for developers to adhere to, then liquidate them when they don't produce a game that breaks sales records by 1,000%.

It was bad enough that they were going to be taken over by Take Two aka Mr.Microtransactions, but now they're taken over by EA who think "loot boxes are the same as Kinder Eggs".

After years of waiting Cyberpunk has been released. Word of warning DO NOT buy this game for Xbox One or PS4. It is an absolute mess on those consoles. Xbox One X and PS4 Pro are passable and obviously it looks and runs a bit better on PS5 and Series X. I'm probably going to end up waiting for the next gen update myself!

Ordered it for my Series X, I'll be honest not that impressed at all.

shame !!

Yeah I share your thoughts, the game is quite evidently unfinished and I genuinely believe that Covid-19 probably did botch the final year of development. I'm also on Series X and wasn't blown away by the graphical fidelity. Just got to wait for that next gen patch, hopefully by then the game will have been fixed and polished also. Seems a no brainer for me to wait a while.

Disappointed however at the lack of response by CD Projekt Red. They haven't acknowledged any of the glaring issues in the game as of yet. Hopefully it's just a matter of time.

Its a real shame, I have Gears 5 and it looks pretty dam good far better then Cyberpunk that's for sure.

This is typical of a long time hyped game. They add too much pressure and inevitably it will collapse in on its self.

I don't doubt that it's a good game under the layers of bugs and combat issues, but I won't be purchasing until at least 6 months after release.

Bought Ghost of Tsushima off Playstation store for around £37, if anyone wants to know how I will provide a response detailing how. Just thought I'd say that so far it is absolutely brilliant. Bare in mind this is around 5 hours in. Reminds me very much of the experience of playing The Witcher 3 for the first time except with a much better combat system. Would highly recommend.

{Ed001's Note - is it an RPG then?}

1.) 22 Jul 2020 01:24:48
Yes it is Ed001. Similar quest system to games such as Witcher and more recently AC Origins/Odyssey. Albeit with better combat, graphics and story compared to AC. Wonderful soundtrack also with two composers, you can tell believe me. Very enjoyable (after more playtime today) and just discovered duels that are very similar to old Samurai movies from 60's, 70's and 80's.

{Ed001's Note - that sounds like my kind of game, I looked at it and it didn't suggest it was an RPG. Have to be honest, I find Assassin's Creed games to be terrible to play so I am glad it is better than them.}

Id like to know how please mate.

TheDarkKnight. It involves firstly creating an account that is set up in one of the 10 US states that does not have sales tax, so for example Orego or Alaska. I recommend for the future also setting up a canadian PSN account(as their sales are much cheaper than UK, got Days Gone for £12 when it was £35 on UK store). After this you should then buy US Credit for PSN store. The site I used, called GAMIVO, was selling $20 for around £13 with a sale on that would then take a further 10% off. Which meant you buy 3× $20 with the price working out at around £35-37. Add those codes onto your US PSN account and simply buy the game from your wallet for $60 which you've paid £35-37 for. Job Done. Remember to set your home PS4 onto your main account. Then you can play the game on your main account whilst having bought it on another. Hope that's helpful. Other websites such as CDKeys, G2A and Eneba also sell the currency. Any questions feel free to reply to this.

Nice one mate, going to look into that. Every little helps. Especially if you buy a few. Thanks

Supposedly there's an event soon to showcase and provide an update on the game.

Didn't enjoy the first one personally but I know it was popular. Hopefully the second doesn't release as an absolute mess.

Never played any of the Gears games however always thought they looked rather enjoyable. Gears 5 is supposed to be an excellent game so I will most likely end up playing at some point. Do you recommend I play from the beginning (don't have much time) or just play Gears 5 for a good experience?
