Shadow of the colossus next week ed07. Never played the original but it’s supposed to be amazing! Only £25 as it’s a remake so definatly worth a punt

Shadow of the colossus is one of the most beautiful games ever made. For its time it was absolutely groundbreaking. Even before the remake comes out I’d suggest you try pick it up in a second hand store or online. I despise retro for the sake of retro but this game would be one to pop back in the old ps2. On a side note, there was a really great film starring Adam Sandler called “reign over me†which heavily revolves around playing that game. I don’t want to give too much away apart from saying that it was a serious role and he is magnificent throughout.

I’m so looking forward to it and as the PS4 is the only console I never bought it’s a first time for me . It looks perfect

I meant ps2 lol. I have never played it so can’t tell you to much but it looks like a cross between tomb raider and zelda. Hunting big titans/colossus. Aoe will tell you more

I was never a tomb raider fan. I was trying to describe a zelda world that wasn’t childish in appearance . Maybe look up a video ! PS4 exclusive I think! Could be wrong

It's a strange open world game where ALL you do is stroll around trying to defeat 12(?) massive monsters. thing is, you've to figure out where each one is, how to get on them (e.g., the early ones might have a grip along their ankle as they walk and you slowly find a route up its body before finding a weak point) and eventually how to kill them. I haven't done this justice with my description at all. It focuses very much on atmosphere and it feels like your playing something very different and strangely important. To my knowledge, no game has ever come close to it since, hence the excitement in the remake. If anyone has played the last guardian, you might get an idea of the similar atmosphere but that's where the resemblance ends. I hope this helps though I really don't think it has.

Yeah I agree. It will need vast improvements to make a good game. As well as mentioned above it also handles poorly and the load outs and menu scrolling take too long as it's still feels very much laid out for mouse and pad.

I agree, I didn't get into it, partly because I didn't get 1 kill, partly because I'm into cod at the moment. I've got assassin's Creed to start at some point aswell so not sure when I'm going to have the chance to put some solid hours into it.

Gonna chime in here guys, it’s a mess with equal amounts of fun. If you aren’t sure, try fortnite battle royal free to play on ps4 or xbone. It’s essentially pubg lite with some Minecraft thrown in.

I think we’re about to be inundated with battle royal modes everywhere. No bad thing, I always loved the terror of one life modes like seek and destroy or one in the chamber. I worry when ea and dice do battle royal mode, it’ll be with only vehicles like the gta one which just isn’t great. As for pubg-I’ve waited 6 months for this game, I’m going to persevere. To anyone playing, I’d suggest you turn the vibration settings off, it changes your perspective every time you shoot. (Yep, bit of a fun mess)

Cant believe how much I'm enjoying AC origins. I bought it to really kill time until a game I really want to play comes out. I have played the first 4 and started to grow board of the series. So bought this out of curiosity and I think it's the best one that I have played. Didn't like the new combat but now love it! It's almost like the witcher 3 in loads of ways.
{Ed007's Note - I'm loving it too mate, they've really gave the series the kick up the arse it was needing and got it back on track. I've hardly looked at the new Star Wars game because I'm so engrossed in Origins.}

Well I've bought COD, destiny 2 , wolfenstein both darksiders remastered and god of war remastered and I haven't even put them on yet as I'm glued to it ed. don't you think it's like a cross between the best parts of AC and witcher 3. Those challenges fighting the gods that pop up are brilliant like the raids on destiny. If zelda and Mario never came out this year it would be the best I've played this year!

Adventure game and RPGs tend to be my favourite type of games. I will occasionally buy Fifa although I haven't done that in 5 or 6 years now and I will play the odd shooter.
{Ed001's Note - I like some RPGs, Skyrim for instance and Fallout 4 I loved. RDR too. FIFA I got this year because I was given some money to spend on games for my birthday and there was literally nothing about I fancied so I ended up pre-ordering FIFA. I have to say this season's one is pretty much the usual, but, as I haven't played it for years, the new bits in FUT I enjoy, such as squad building etc. I do actually like the new COD as well, though I don't normally like them, this one is more enjoyable than the usually are. I just don't really have the time to play games as much as I would like.}

I've got cod on the back burner for now . A few years ago I would get every game I wanted on release and try and play them all at once and never complete any of them. I'm glad they have returned to the older style of play rather than the futuristic games of late. I think much of that was to do with battlefield 1 blowing last years cod out of the water
{Ed001's Note - I could never get into the futuristic games of COD at all. My daughter loved them but they bored me to tears after the initial gimmicky stuff of trying the new weapons.}

pubg is an excellent game, its not the best graphically or even game physics/mechanics, bt the game mode by itself is fantastic.

Agreed sanogo, I'd never heard of it till just before I posted that. I watched a live stream of it on twitch or whatever it's called on the Xbox. I think it looks great, can't wait to play it.

have already played the game for loads of hours. haven't really been playing much since fifa 18 was released. its fun with a group of friends, i really like the concept, quick easy for anyone to just pickup and play.

In my group of friends it’s JRPGs things like dragon quest , blue dragon etc. I love them games but my mates think I’m a total sad case @36 playing that stuff. But I still rinse manga and anime so that’s probably why. 😂.
