Rumours are that EA's PC Platform "Origin" is going to get shut down.

All EA games will be placed in the Steam Store, and this includes Origin's premium service "Origin Access". This will happen during 2020 in a gradual process.

I'm glad for this personally, I think Origin is an awful client, full of bugs and not well made. I did have concerns about Origin Access though, as I'm a subscriber and have paid the annual fee(£89.99).

{Ed001's Note - I am with you on Origin being awful. You can't even use controllers on a PC through Origin, which makes racing games pointless as you are unable to use a wheel. I really hope you are right and it does go on Steam.}

Well in terms of EA games going onto Steam, that's more than just rumours as EA have already started the process with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
According to Windows Central, FIFA, Battlefield V, The Sims 4, Unravel 2 and Apex Legends are all due to join steam this year.

{Ed001's Note - that would be much better, that Origin is a pain.}

So after more digging, it seems that Origin isn't going to get shut down, but almost converted into a game launcher. Similar to Rockstar Launcher.
I suppose that's better than keeping it as it is.

{Ed001's Note - seems pointless to me, those game launchers are just a pain.}
